Navicular Syndrome Different Symptoms And Treatments

By Shirley Brown

One of the major problems of people who own horses is the disease that has never been found a solution and a reason why this problem is happening to them. They do not know why they have to have such complex sickness that brought disaster to their animal. Later on, that have found few Navicular Disease Treatment as well as its common symptom.

A bone called the navicular can be located near where the hoof of that animal is located. This is covered with tissues and muscles which serves as its support to make it work properly. It is known to be a very complex structure, while it was considered as being helpful to the movement of such creature because of its functions.

One of the functions of that bone is to provide something that can help the flexor tendon to glide so that it can switch to another angle. It is mainly for the other bone located in the area to move as well. So that the hoof of that horse will as well move to the direction that it wanted.

Navicular syndrome is acquired once the horse is working harder but is acquiring less rest. The owners are advised to avoid having theirs to so much work, less heavy the work they give to them, the lesser chance they will have such disease. The pain that the creature will feel will be so painful and they might not perform the way they had before getting the disease.

Pathology has been searching for different types of symptom once a horse is suffering from that kind of sickness. They have examined something that was having it and found out that they are engaging in more painful complications. Using their tools they were able to locate some common symptoms.

When you have noticed an unusual enlargement of their vascular channels, then they are already suffering from such a disease. When there are also changes in the ligaments, it is also another hint. Different cysts will also develop on that part. Fractures also will start to develop that would be causing the problem to take place.

When your animal is suffering from this sickness or any of such symptoms, you must bring it to a veterinarian so that you will know what other things you could possibly do to avoid further complication. The vet will then examine it. After this, he will give you options that can help you and your horse.

Putting a shoe on the hoof of the horse is a common treatment. Through this the angle of the hoof will be raised, adjusting it to where it is supposed to have its location. This is to avoid any inflammation inside that can drive more complications to occur.

If ever it is getting worse the vet could advice surgical treatment. This may cause a lot but it was proven to have worked and lessen the problem. Others who have their horses tried the surgery said that it help in sounding them for one year. This is not recommended to be done twice, because the cure is not permanent. And if done twice, it could bring more complications.
