The Importance Of TNCC Certification

By Jerry Stewart

Human durability exists on a scale. On the one end of the scale, a person seem to be made of iron, taking all kinds of damage short of a nuclear bomb and walk through it with no ill effects. On the other end of the scale, an individual be hit by a soft breeze and rupture every single organ in their body. Of course, this can happen slowly, or all at the same time. When the situation is the latter, then a person should hope that the caregiver has TNCC certification New York.

A nurse is the hands on caregiver. While a doctor will be the one to determine the treatment and administer the cure, the nurse is the one who does the grunt work. As such, nurses play a very important role in healthcare.

Now, nurses have many, many things that the need to do in order to induce wellness. A doctor will be the one who makes the final decisions regarding treatment protocol. But it is the nurse whom the patient and their families will interact with the most, as they will be one who provides the most hands on care to a patient.

The letter T, N, C, and C all stand for Trauma Nursing Core Course. It is as, the latter C would imply, a course. It specializes in making sure that the skills of a candidate as sharp as they can, especially when it comes to trauma care. The skills that are sharpened will serve many nurses well if they ever find themselves having to work in the emergency room, or any similar context.

The TNCC course is not going to take too long. The bulk of the course will take place over two days wherein a candidate will be put through the absolute ringer with some very intensive training. It should be noted that the ratio of student to faculty is four to one, which means one instructor for every four students, a ratio that should be easily manageable for the instructor and make sure that each student gets enough one on one time to learn.

Trauma care is extremely urgent. Any medical professional will attest to that. Because of the nature of the injury, there will be a limited window of time before the damage really sets in and becomes irreversible. Things like nerve damage can be prevented, but it has to happen within a golden window.

A common facet of the training will be a bit of hands on experience, a little bit of practice. There are some modules that can be taken online. There will also be some time spent in a classroom setting.

For obvious reasons, all registered nurses will be qualified to attend the course. But a licensed practical nurse will also be allowed the opportunity to try their hand at learning the material involved in the coursework. Paramedics, being first responders in an emergency situation, will also be allowed to attend the course, with the exception of the written exam.

Life is unpredictable, X can lead to Y and then lead to Z. That is the nature of linear progression. But other that aging, life can be anything but linear. When things happen, it helps to know that there are people who are capable of being able to render aid.
